You've done it again
Crossed a line
riffs + synths. This is what you find on Suburban Living’s Bandcamp profile.
And this is what you get, in Lovely Times, the fourth track on their fourth album, Almost Paradise (2016).
The shoegaze makes the sounds layer on onto the other without space in between, so Wesley Bunch’s voice is not entirely detachable from his guitar, Michael Cammaratand’s drums, the bass played by Pete Pantina and the other guitar by Christopher Radwanksi.
The record is produced by Jeff Zeigler, who puts a little of his previous works with War on Drugs in this songs too, to make this band sound like a source of noisy sound.
The lyrics are well screamed, and “all that’s left is an empty apology”, but “no one cares”. Undisclosed sadness permeates this song, with some attention to the past (“Our lovely times, were they lonely times?”) which displays that they, like everyone, are also “getting older”.
I'm tired of lying
I miss you all the time
